It is very difficult to evaluate this movie separately from the book, but unfortunately (for the movie), I read the book first. Bottom line: very, very pale in comparison to the original. It is impossible to get away from the book (except for the most bloody-meat moments), it has a lot of interesting, fresh scenes, twists and turns, incredibly concentrated, alive state, absolutely full development of the plot and some other advantages. And the film is like a magnificent watercolor painting after washing in the washing machine - it seems to be preserved, but it is very faint.
At the same time, if you still evaluate this movie separately, there are pluses: quite decent acting, not a bad picture, music, but all this is an order of magnitude paler than in the book. I expected more.
