Another one of my favorite movies starring the excellent comedy duo of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer. This time our restless couple has to go to a tropical island where a huge treasure is said to be hidden.
Or rather, the treasure is looking for Allan (Hill), but Charlie (Spencer) is just unlucky that Allan was on his boat.
Well, they find themselves, then, on Bongo Bongo, and there “on an island, on an island, on a fair island”... Anyway, there the real adventures begin.
Sergio Corbucci again creates a fascinating, multifaceted and extremely funny kaleidoscope of adventures. There are islanders, under the control of Queen Mama, and an old Japanese soldier Kamasuka, who does not believe that the war with America is long over, and pirates, and bandits, also hunting for the treasure.
I watched the movie for the first time at the age of ten, and then, no doubt, it had the proper effect (here you can't help but understand the popularity of “Peter Pan”, but it's not about him now). Well, what child will not fall for such a diverse and multicolored adventure canvas, when, in addition, it was funny to the point of colic. Ten years later, the picture seemed naive and cute to me. It was, of course, not so funny, and not so exciting. Because now the movie has a slightly different effect.
It's like a memory, a vivid flashback from my childhood (let's call it “his youth came back to him, stood for a while, and went on”, or something like that), I hope you understand.
In any case, the film is a sin not to watch, because besides bright light humor and interesting adventure story, it carries one more important idea - all the treasures of the world are nothing when you have a faithful friend with you.
