One of Sandler's funniest films, in my opinion!
It's the story of a guy with a powerful shot and an explosive temper who loves hockey and his grandmother with all his heart. However, in hockey, Gilmore achieves nothing but record penalty time and the idea of fighting with his skates off.
The film is really funny: you can laugh at almost all the characters in it: the main “bad guy” with his dandyish mannerisms, the coach with a wooden arm, the eccentric grandmother, and Sandler himself, who is simply incomparable in this comedy... And also at Ben Stiller, who only has about three minutes of screen time in this film, but even in such a short time, you manage to laugh at his character.
Plus, it's immediately obvious that this is a Dennis Dugan film, who is very good at family comedies (I think most people will agree with me that “The Hard Child” and “Big Daddy” are very good family films) kind, a little sentimental, and very funny.
