Quite interesting mystic-comic thrash from one of the real kings of the genre George Romero and Stephen King. There is nothing particularly scary or exciting there, and why should there be? These are comic books - teen horror stories - silly stories about drowning vigilantes, scary animals living under the stairs and cockroach killers. Well, what could be simpler than these uncomplicated children's scarecrows, which children in America read in comic books, and in our country they learn through the series 'Scarecrows'. Well, yes - nothing super new, but interesting, simple and...fun.
Exactly, Romero provided all his short stories with healthy (albeit black) humor, and none of them can be taken seriously, however, the slasher genre itself suggests a dumb scare, which you can't look at without a smile. Well, tell me, how can you watch a short story where a corpse crawls out of a grave and yells: "Where's my cake? Give me back my cake!", or at the stupid dreams of a louser farmer who dreams how he will receive for the meteorite found 'at least 200 dollars'....
Unexpectedly pleased Leslie Nielsen as the murderous drowning killer (the most interesting novelization) and Stephen King himself as the foolish farmer. Unexpected appearances by a great actor and a great writer.
Special effects, of course, childish, and there are a lot of mistakes, but is it worth talking about? The main thing is that I liked the almanac itself!
